Dr. Francisco J. Alvarez Berger is a board-certified veterinary medical oncologist with over 20 years of experience dedicated to the care of pets with cancer. He is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized treatment to every pet and family he works with.

Dr. Alvarez Berger completed his oncology residency and a Master’s degree in cancer research at The Ohio State University, where he later served as a Clinical Instructor in the Hematology and Oncology Service. During his time there, he focused on clinical research and teaching veterinary students, interns, and residents in the fields of hematology and oncology.  In 2025, he founded Veterinary Cancer Health, a specialty practice focused on delivering expert, personalized cancer care for dogs and cats. He also serves as an associate professor of veterinary oncology at Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla in Mexico. He is also an active contributor to veterinary oncology through research publications, textbook chapters, and lectures at national and international conferences.
